Photography is a medium that allows you to capture a moment in time; A fleeting moment that, perhaps, may not even exist, except that a photograph exists to prove that it does. Something metaphysical happens as the photographer converts the intangible (a moment, a feeling, the color of the sun's rays on a lover's skin...) into a palpable and distinct object - a photograph. The photographer then becomes the creator.
Illumination is a necessity and the goal. Light is required to acquire an image and inspiration is required to motivate its capture. The moment becomes an archival process greater than one's mind, whose descriptive powers are limited and confined by vocabulary. A myriad of subject matter exists and all at the hands of the one who decides to be the maker.
